What Measles Was Like Before Vaccine Company Marketing

Depending on who you speak with, measles may or may not be a big deal. These days, even a few cases of measles can spawn major news coverage to go on for weeks, months and longer. They can even change state laws into authoritarian government overreach (see SB277).

But it hasn’t always been this way. So what happened?

Did measles morph into a killer disease like cancer, or, did vaccine makers follow the money? If you follow the money, you find out there isn’t much profit in telling anyone that measles isn’t a big deal. Who would vaccinate their child for measles if measles weren’t a big, life-threatening event? The sale’s pitch is everything when it comes to pharmaceutical company profits.

Here’s an old episode from a 1959 Donna Reed show episode, along with a slew of other popular shows over a time span preceding vaccine hoopla. Was measles less dangerous back then? Were people just more healthy? Or was there less vaccine profiteering?

Watch and decide.
