Connecticut Claims Potential Mumps Cases In High School

high school mumps

According to local Connecticut’s Eyewitness 3, a person has been diagnosed with mumps and parents are being warned that their children were potentially exposed.

The Quinnipiack Valley Health District is reporting a single case of mumps from December 3rd at the Amity High School in Woodbridge. The district is not disclosing whether or not the alleged case of mumps was contracted by student or staff. Parents have been sent warnings regarding the matter.

We also have no information as to whether or not the alleged infected person had been diagnosed, however, most of the students likely were.

Last year, Connecticut was the center of another mump’s issue when several students and staff members were diagnosed with mumps at Sacred Heart University.
