Published on Nov 1, 2016 – 840 baby macaque monkeys were shipped to America for animal testing, but most of them didn’t die from that. Five monkeys were dead by the time they reached Houston, but the rest were not given veterinary care or food and were then shipped over 2,000 miles to Washington state.
According to The Daily Beast, twenty more monkeys there either died of dehydration or were euthanized on arrival. The rest were sent to SNBL USA, which performs lab tests on dogs, rats, rodents, and now, monkeys. The USDA is now suing the company for killing around 38 primates due to neglect, starvation, and poor treatment.
