In the not too distant future, 5G is likely to become our mainstay network for mobile data. It’s a fancy name that implies more download speed, something most of us would see as a great thing.
But many health experts and scientists are sounding the alarms over 5G, claiming that while it might be great for our streaming music, it may not be so great for our health.
5G is yet one more electromagnetic radiation facet added into an already crowded field.
While cell phone providers tend to sweep any negative news about electromagnetic radiation under the proverbial rug, the science that such transmissions as 5G could cause brain cancer is becoming more and more clear.
In San Fransisco, firefighters claimed that they experienced side effects following the installation of 5G equipment.
A year ago, California officials warned that sleeping by a phone might not be good for one’s health.
“Although the science is still evolving, there are concerns among some public health professionals and members of the public regarding long-term, high use exposure to the energy emitted by cell phones,” CDPH Director Dr. Karen Smith said in a statement. “We know that simple steps, such as not keeping your phone in your pocket and moving it away from your bed at night, can help reduce exposure for both children and adults.”
With almost every person in our population carrying some sort of smartphone device, the implications of such radiation exposure and penetration are truly terrifying. Worse more, parents are more commonly allowing their children to play with smartphone devices. This exposes children with developing brains to such radiation at critical ages.
How Can We Limit Radiation Exposure?
- Try to store the smartphone or smart-device away from your body. You don’t need a smartphone resting on your lap all the time.
- If you have a weak signal, don’t use your phone.
- Stream less, download more. In other words, if you like a certain playlist, download it so it’s not always routing through data.
- If you aren’t on a call, take off your headset.
In the end, avoiding the frequencies is going to be next to impossible for almost all of us. All we can do is try to manage the situation as best we can.
